Tirupati is likely to get another Vande Bharat Express, connecting the temple city with Shivamogga Town in Karnataka through Bengaluru. The proposal has received a positive response from the Railway Board following a request by Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumoorthy. The proposed service is expected to improve travel between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and make the journey more convenient for passengers and devotees visiting Tirupati.

The new train is planned to run between Shivamogga Town and Tirupati via Bengaluru, aiming to provide a faster travel option for people travelling between Bengaluru and Tirupati. The route is expected to cover around 545 km, linking important cities and towns in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
According to the tentative plan, the train could leave Shivamogga Town early in the morning and travel towards Bengaluru before continuing to Tirupati. A proposed schedule has the train departing Shivamogga at around 4:30 am, reaching Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal in Bengaluru at about 9:15 am, and arriving at Tirupati around 2:15 pm. On the return journey, it could leave Tirupati at around 2:45 pm, reach Bengaluru in the evening, and return to Shivamogga late at night. These timings are tentative and may change before the service officially begins.
The proposed Vande Bharat would be particularly useful for Tirupati pilgrims, as Tirupati is an important religious destination and receives thousands of visitors throughout the year. It would also benefit regular passengers travelling between Shivamogga, Bengaluru and Tirupati.
The proposed service is part of efforts to improve railway connectivity and provide faster train services between major cities. However, the final schedule, stoppages, frequency, and launch date will depend on further approval and operational planning by the railway authorities.
