A new metro train has been delivered to the Hebbagodi Depot, and officials believe it will help shorten the wait time for passengers on the Yellow Line. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) stated that once this train starts running, the time between trains could decrease to approximately 15

minutes. This is expected to make travel smoother for commuters who currently face longer gaps between trains.
Arrival of Fifth Train Set and Trials
This is the fifth train set for the Yellow Line, which reached the depot on September 30. On Friday, BMRCL Managing Director J. Ravishankar visited the depot to inspect the newly arrived train, with senior officials and board directors. They checked the train's condition and discussed the next steps required before it could be put into use. According to BMRCL, the train will not start carrying passengers immediately. Before that, it must go through several stages of testing and trials. These trials are done to ensure safety, performance, and system compatibility. Only after the train passes all these checks will it be added to regular passenger services.
Rising Demands of BMRCL's MD
Dr. Ravishankar has asked the officials to fast-track the entire process and added that the number of passengers on the Yellow Line is growing and the train's frequency needs to be increased. He emphasized the importance of improving daily operations and reducing crowding. Once testing is completed and the train begins service, people using the Yellow Line can expect shorter wait times, better connectivity, and improved travel comfort. The arrival of this train marks another step in expanding metro services and meeting the travel needs of Bengaluru's growing population.
