The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced planned power cuts in Bengaluru from October 23 to October 31, 2025. These temporary outages are needed to carry out maintenance, repair, and upgrade work at various substations and 11 kV feeder lines across the city. Areas under this schedule will face

intermittent power supply during this period.
Why is Power Maintenance Conducted?
According to BESCOM's official statement, these power cuts are part of ongoing projects aimed at improving the city's power infrastructure and ensuring better electricity distribution. The company will be performing tasks including strengthening power lines, replacing transformers, and maintaining feeder systems during this time. Each power cut will last eight hours, typically between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, though the exact duration may vary depending on the progress of work in each area.
Areas to be Affected in Bangalore
Some of the main zones affected include Banashankari, JP Nagar, Jayanagar, BTM Layout, Vijayanagar, Nagarbhavi, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Kengeri, Chandra Layout, Vidyaranyapura, Yelahanka, HSR Layout, Koramangala, Indiranagar, Mahadevapura, KR Puram, Electronic City, and Whitefield.
BESCOM's Advisory for Residents
Although many residents have raised concerns about internet disruptions, appliance use, and work schedules during the outage hours, BESCOM has advised the public to charge essential devices, back up important data, and plan to minimize inconvenience. Businesses, particularly in major IT hubs like Electronic City and Whitefield, are expected to rely on generators or UPS backup systems to maintain smooth operations while the maintenance work is underway. The scheduled power cuts aim to ensure a more reliable and efficient electricity supply in the future.
