The Ministry of Railways has approved a new Amrit Bharat Express connecting Bhuj in Gujarat with Barauni in Bihar, aiming to improve rail connectivity between Gujarat and Bihar while also linking important destinations in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
Amrit Bharat Express: Bhuj-Barauni Operations
The Bhuj-Barauni-Bhuj Amrit Bharat Express will operate as Train Nos. 19427 and 19428. It will cover around 2,532 km and will operate via Gorakhpur. The train will run at speeds ranging from 110 kmph to 130 kmph.
The train will stop at several important stations along its route. Major commercial stoppages include Samakhiali, Ahmedabad, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Bharatpur, Mathura, Hathras, Bareilly, Izzatnagar, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Siwan, Chhapra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur and Samastipur, among others.
This route will provide an additional travel option for passengers travelling between Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Amrit Bharat Express: Timings and Frequency
Train No. 19427 Bhuj-Barauni Amrit Bharat Express will leave Bhuj at 5:30 pm and reach Barauni at 4:05 am. In the opposite direction, Train No. 19428 Barauni-Bhuj Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Barauni at 11:55 pm and arrive at Bhuj at 1:15 pm. The Bhuj-Barauni service will run three days a week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The Barauni-Bhuj service will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Amrit Bharat Express: Coach composition and Features
The Amrit Bharat Express, launched in 2023, is designed to offer an affordable travel option for passengers. It will have 11 General Class coaches, 8 Sleeper Class coaches, 1 Pantry car and 2 Luggage-cum-Divyangjan coaches.
The train will also feature semi-automatic couplers, fire detection systems, sealed gangways and talk-back units.
