Indian Railways will operate 102 special train trips through stations under the Solapur Division to meet the expected rise in passenger demand during the Dussehra and Diwali festive season. The additional services will connect Mumbai, Chennai, Latur, Kolhapur and Kalaburagi, giving passengers more travel options during the festive period.
Dussehra & Diwali Special Trains: Kolhapur-Kalaburagi special trains
The largest number of special services will operate between Kolhapur and Kalaburagi. A total of 64 trips will run from October 10 to November 15, except on Fridays.
Train No. 01451 will leave Kolhapur at 6.10 am and reach Kalaburagi at 4.10 pm. The return service, Train No. 01452, will depart from Kalaburagi at 6.10 pm and reach Kolhapur at 5.40 am the following day.
The train will stop at Hatkanangale, Jayasingpur, Miraj Junction, Arag, Belanki, Sulgare, Kavathe Mahankal, Langarpeth, Dhalgaon, Mhasoba Dongargaon, Javale, Wasud, Sangola, Pandharpur, Modnimb, Kurduwadi Junction, Solapur and Kalaburagi Junction.
The service will have 18 ICF coaches, including four AC III-tier, six Sleeper Class, six General Second Class and two luggage-cum-brake vans.
Dussehra & Diwali Special Trains: Mumbai-Chennai special trains
Twelve weekly special trips will run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Mumbai and Chennai Beach.
Train No. 01015 will depart from CSMT Mumbai at 12.35 am every Wednesday from October 14 to November 18 and reach Chennai Beach at 11.30 pm the same day. Train No. 01016 will leave Chennai Beach at 4 am every Thursday from October 15 to November 19 and reach CSMT Mumbai at 4 am the next day.
The trains will stop at Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Daund, Kurduwadi, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Wadi, Krishna, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Adoni, Guntakal, Gooty, Tadipatri, Yerraguntla, Cuddapah, Razampeta, Renigunta, Arakkonam and Perambur. They will have 22 LHB coaches.
Dussehra & Diwali Special Trains: Mumbai-Latur special trains
Another 26 special trips will operate between CSMT Mumbai and Latur every Tuesday and Thursday from October 13 to November 24.
Train No. 01105 will leave CSMT Mumbai at 12.35 am and reach Latur at 11.40 am. The return service, Train No. 01106, will depart from Latur at 4.30 pm and reach CSMT Mumbai at 4.10 am the following day.
This train will stop at Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Uruli, Daund, Bhigwan, Jeur, Kurduwadi, Barshi Town, Dharashiv and Harangul. The service will have 22 ICF coaches, including four AC III-tier, 11 Sleeper Class, five General Second Class and two luggage-cum-brake vans.
Reservations for the festival special trains, which will operate at special charges, will open from September 27 at computerised reservation centres, through the IRCTC website and on the RailOne app.
