The North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) will operate around 120 additional buses to manage the expected increase in passenger demand during the Gandhi Jayanti holiday weekend. The special services are being planned to help people travelling to their hometowns and other destinations during the extended break.

The additional buses will be operated by the Hubballi, Dharwad, Gadag, Belagavi, Uttara Kannada, Haveri, Chikkodi and Bagalkote divisions of the corporation. These divisions are expected to see higher passenger movement during the holiday period, particularly on routes connecting major towns and cities.
Special services from Bengaluru to destinations within Karnataka and neighbouring states will operate on October 1 and 2. Gandhi Jayanti falls on Friday, October 2, and is followed by the weekend on October 3 and 4. With the holiday and weekend falling together, transport officials expect more people to travel during these days.
