The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is a major project that will improve travel between Delhi and Dehradun. This expressway, which costs Rs 2,324 crore, will make commuting faster and smoother. The 31.6 km long expressway will have six lanes, reducing traffic congestion and making travel more comfortable.

One of the key features of the expressway is the addition of foot over bridges at different points. These bridges will help pedestrians, especially students, cross the road safely.
Key Section of the Expressway Now Open
A very important part of the expressway, a 3.5 km stretch from Daat Kali to Asharodi, is now fully open. Earlier, only three lanes were in use, but now all six lanes are operational. This section connects Ganeshpur village in Uttar Pradesh to Asharodi, improving connectivity between the two regions.
Two Sections of the Expressway
The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is divided into two sections:
- First section: 14.750 km long, built at a cost of Rs 1,100 crore
- Second section: 16.850 km long, built at a cost of Rs 1,323 crore
Leading construction companies, M/s Ganwar Construction and M/s Gayatri Construction, are responsible for building these sections.
Major Highlights of the Expressway
The expressway includes two 200-meter elevated sections for smoother movement. It starts from Ganeshpur and extends 8.3 km to Mohand town, followed by an 8.08 km stretch to the Daat Kali Tunnel. The final 3.4 km stretch to Asharodi Check Post is now fully operational.
The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is expected to be fully completed by December 2024. Once completed, it will greatly reduce travel time between Delhi and Dehradun.
