More than 40 days after the launch of Namma Metro's Yellow Line, commuters finally have seating arrangements at most stations along the 19 km stretch between RV Road and Bommasandra. This move resulted from repeated complaints from passengers, especially the elderly, who struggled without proper seating while waiting for trains.

BMRCL's Response to Commuters' Concerns
When the Yellow Line opened, the shortage of trainsets forced commuters to wait for nearly 25 minutes at stations, and the absence of seats during this long wait caused inconvenience and frustration. Listening to the feedback, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) has now installed rows of metal seats at the majority of stations on this corridor. A ground check revealed that several stations, including BTM Layout, Jayadeva Hospital, Ragigudda, and Konappana Agrahara, have been provided with seating for at least 35 passengers on each platform. This has made waiting more comfortable, especially for senior citizens and others who need to sit while waiting. A BMRCL official confirmed that seats are now available at almost every station on the line, and installations were prioritized at locations where they were most needed. However, the Yellow Line still requires at least two more trainsets to reduce the waiting time between trains to under 10 minutes. Until that happens, seating remains essential for passenger comfort.
While faster and more frequent trains are still awaited, the addition of seats has brought some relief to the daily commuters of the Yellow Line. It shows BMRCL's effort to respond to passenger needs and make metro travel more convenient.
