Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) continues to soar high, securing the esteemed "Best Airport of the Year" title at the recently concluded Wings India Awards 2024. Adding to the glory, Mangaluru International Airport from Karnataka clinched the same honor in the under-five million passenger category.

In a remarkable tie, Bengaluru's airport shares the coveted title with its counterpart in Delhi, as both airports stood out for their excellence. The announcement was made through the airport's official social media channels, expressing gratitude to passengers, partners, stakeholders, and the entire team for contributing to the airport's exceptional journey.
The Wings India forum, recognized as Asia's largest civil aviation exhibition, hosted the four-day event at Hotel Taj Krishna in Hyderabad, commencing on Thursday, January 18. Under the theme "Connecting India to the World in Amrit Kaal: Setting the stage for Indian Civil Aviation 2047," the event witnessed the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who presented the awards.

This accolade adds to the string of honors received by Kempegowda International Airport, further establishing its reputation as a beacon of operational excellence, sustainability initiatives, and passenger-centric innovations. Notably, the airport recently earned the 'Special Prize for an Interior' award from UNESCO's Prix Versailles, acknowledging its new terminal as one of the most aesthetically pleasing airport terminals globally.
The airport's exceptional punctuality also caught the spotlight, with a report by aviation analytics firm Cirium recognizing KIA as the "world's most punctual airport" for the period spanning July to September 2023. This consistent recognition underscores the airport's commitment to providing a seamless and timely travel experience for passengers.

Kempegowda International Airport's Terminal 2, launched amidst much acclaim, showcases a unique garden theme, symbolizing Bengaluru's identity as the garden city of India. The architectural brilliance and thoughtful design elements of the new terminal have not only enhanced the airport's aesthetics but have also contributed to its status as one of the most beautiful airport terminals globally.
As Bengaluru's pride continues to bask in the glory of these accolades, the airport remains dedicated to delivering world-class services and upholding its position as a key player in India's aviation landscape. The recent win at the Wings India Awards reaffirms KIA's commitment to excellence and sets a high standard for the aviation industry in the country.
