The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is set to allow pre-wedding photoshoots at five historic stepwells (vavs) in the city. These stepwells, known for their intricate designs and cultural significance, will soon become unique backdrops for couples to capture their special moments before marriage. This initiative aims to generate revenue and promote Ahmedabad's rich heritage, offering a modern use for these ancient structures.
Stepwells as Stunning Backdrops
Ahmedabad is home to many historical landmarks, including 18 stepwells managed by AMC's heritage department. These stepwells, with their stunning architecture and deep-rooted history, provide an unparalleled setting for photography. Of these, five to six stepwells have been selected for pre-wedding shoots. The list of stepwells, along with fees and guidelines for the shoots, will be announced soon.
Jayesh Trivedi, head of the pre-recreation committee, emphasized the growing trend of pre-wedding photoshoots.
