The Coin Museum is a great tourist site in Nashik. The only one of its type in Asia, the Coin Museum – that is, the Indian Institute of Research in Numismatic Studies – had started here in 1980. It is situated in the beautiful hills of Anjneri and possesses a fertile, rich history. It documents India’s history in numismatics.
The museum is lined with articles, photographs, real and replicated coins that give an insight into India’s currency system through time. The museum is also known to organize workshops for people interested in coin collecting.
