Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa, Manali

Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa or Monastery is one of the famous religious centres for Buddhists located in Manali. The monastery was constructed in 1960 in order to provide shelter to the huge number of immigrants coming to India from Tibet. The main feature of this gompa is its yellow roof that is made in the pagoda-style with a classic tiered tower.

The monastery not only enshrines an idol of Buddha but also displays paintings reflecting the Buddhist ideology. A list, showcasing the names of people those who were killed at the time of Tibetan occupation, is also displayed in the monastery. Visitors can buy Tibetan handicrafts and carpets from a shop situated in the monastery premises. The monastery opens daily for visitors from 6 am to 6 pm.
