Gurudwara Manji Sahib, Ludhiana

3

Gurudwara Manji Sahib, known otherwise as Gurudwara Alamgir Sahib, is situated at a distance of around 29 km to south-east of Ludhiana. Guru Gobind Singh Ji stayed here for some time, after leaving a place called Machiwara.

Guru Ji realised that this place had no water, after which he shot an arrow in the ground, where a spring of water appeared. Later the spring was converted into a tank, which is now referred as Tirsar – the lake of arrow.

It is here that an old lady was cured of her leprosy by taking a dip in the tank as instructed by him. Guru Ji was also presented with a horse to pursue his travel by a devotee. The Shahidi Divas of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji organised here attracts a lot of visitors from far off places.
