Pugazhimalai Shree Arupadai Murugan Temple located at Pugalur on the north west of Karur. The temple is an ancient one situated on top of a hillock at Velayuthanpalayam near the river Kaveri. The temple was built during the time of the Cheras and is famous for its beautiful sculptures.

The main deity of the temple is Lord Murugan or Subramanian. The most celebrated festival of the temple is the Thaipoosam which is celebrated in the first week of February. On this occasion, the devotees place the deity of the temple on a chariot and pull it around the temple during the night.
