Balsamand Lake, Jodhpur

Balsamand Lake, built by Balak Rao Parihar in 1159 AD, is located on Jodhpur-Mandore Road. Earlier, this lake served as a water reservoir of Mandore. It is surrounded by a green garden which interestingly is home to jackals and peacocks.

The Balsamand Lake Palace is located overlooking the lake. This palace served as a summer resort for the royal families of Jodhpur. Exhibiting traditional Rajputana architectural style, this palace is one of the famous heritage hotels of Jodhpur.
