Bengaluru's Namma Metro network is set to expand further as the state government has approved the inclusion of a new corridor between Kadabagere and Tavarekere under Phase 3A of the metro project. This 6.6-km stretch has been added to the upcoming expansion plan to speed up approvals and push forward construction work.

Bengaluru Metro Phase 3 Expansion
The Kadabagere-Tavarekere line is part of the larger Phase 3 expansion of Namma Metro, which aims to improve connectivity in the western parts of Bengaluru. The decision will help strengthen transport links in areas along Magadi Road and nearby localities, which currently depend heavily on road transport. Officials said the inclusion of this corridor is expected to make planning and execution smoother as it will be processed with other Phase 3 projects. The metro expansion is designed to reduce traffic congestion, improve travel time, and provide better public transport options for people living in growing residential and industrial areas.
How will this Expansion Help?
The Kadabagere end of the line will connect with other proposed metro routes, making it easier for passengers to travel across different parts of the city without relying on buses or private vehicles. Tavarekere will also serve as an important connecting point, linking this stretch to the rest of the metro network. The Namma Metro Phase 3 project is one of the biggest infrastructure expansions planned for Bengaluru. It includes multiple new corridors and is expected to expand the metro system's reach significantly. Once completed, it will improve access to key areas, reduce pressure on road traffic, and support the city's growing population. Authorities believe that expanding the metro network will also support economic growth by improving connectivity to business hubs, residential zones, and industrial areas.
