The 9th edition of the Malabar River Festival has kicked off with a bang! Kayakers hailing from 10 countries, including the UK and the US, have converged to showcase their skills in the waters of Iruvanjhipuzha and Chalipuzha rivers. The festivities began with intense competitions in intermediate extreme slalom at Pulikkayam, where the contestants showcased their mastery over the challenging waters. The competition's intensity will escalate with boater cross events that will determine the ultimate winners based on their rankings. The stage is set for an exhilarating display of skill, tenacity, and determination. The newly constructed International Kayaking Centre at Pulikkayam further solidifies the region's status as a premier kayaking destination in the country.

As the 3 days festival culminates on August 6th, a fitting crescendo awaits.
