Kushmi Forest is a very popular tourist spot in Gorakhpur. It is close to the main railway junction and is known for its sal and sequoia trees. One can also spot several animals, like monkeys, deer and fox, in the area.
The forest is home to a beautiful shrine dedicated to Goddess Buddhia Mai. The belief goes that if you make a wish at the shrine it will come true. There is also a park and zoo attached to the forest.
