Qila Mubarak Palace
The Qila Mubarak Palace was built by Maharaja Ala Singh in 1764. It was the residence of the royal family of Patiala. The city of Patiala is established around this palace.
The architecture of the palace boasts of Mughal and Rajasthani styles. Tourists coming here can explore the palace and be mesmerised by its beauty.

Sheesh Mahal
The Sheesh Mahal was built by Maharaja Narendra Singh in the year 1847. The palace was thus named as it has many appealing coloured glass and mirror works all throughout.
Also, there is a small lake in front of this palace called Lakshman Jhoola. Tourists coming here get a feel as if they are taking a walk back in time and re-visiting the splendour of the kings.
Baradari Gardens
The Baradari Gardens is located north of the city. The garden is known to have twelve doors and was the royal garden of Emperor Rajinder Singh, who is said to have planted many varieties of trees and flowers here.
Even today this garden is well-maintained and boasts of few rare varieties of plants and flowers. Tourists coming here can enjoy a walk in the garden and take in the beautiful fragrance of the many flowers here.
How to Reach Patiala
By Air: The Chandigarh Airport is the nearest to Patiala, which is approximately 60 km away. It is connected to all the major cities of the country including Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Bangalore by regular flights.
By Train: The city has a railway station that is connected to several destinations within the state as well as the country. Tourists can catch trains from Mumbai, Chandigarh and Delhi as these cities provide regular commuting facility.
By Road: Reaching Patiala from other states of India by road is quite convenient through NH-1. It lies at a distance of around 238 km from Delhi and is connected by regular state and private buses. It is also connected by buses to prominent cities such as Chandigarh and Amritsar.
