Chennai Central Railway StationThe Chennai Central Railway Station is one of the most popular heritage sites in Chennai. During the British rule in India, this structure was the main gateway for those who travelled to South India. The structure is built using Gothic Revival style of architecture. The Chennai Central Railway Station has been mentioned and shown in several novels and films, respectively.

Ripon BuildingThe Ripon Building in Chennai is one of the major landmarks of the city. This white building is the seat of Chennai Corporation, and is located close to the Chennai Central Railway Station. The building is one of the finest examples of Indo-Saracenic style of architecture in India. It is named after the then Governor General of British India, Lord Ripon.

Kannagi StatueKannagi is a well-known character of the Tamil epic Silappathikaram. Also known as Karpukkarasi and Pathini, Kannagi denotes strength and loyalty. The statue of Kannagi, which is installed at Marina Beach, is one of the heritage sites of the city. Though the statue was removed owing to interruptions in traffic, it was later reinstalled here.

Valluvar Kottam
Valluvar Kottam is a monument in Chennai that is dedicated to the classical Tamil philosopher, poet and saint, Thiruvalluvar. Installed at the intersection point of the Kodambakkam high road and the Village road, Valluvar Kottam is a memorial that is built in the shape of a chariot, in which a life-sized statue of Thiruvalluvar has been placed.

Higginbothams is the oldest book shop that exists in India. It is located at Mount Road in Chennai. This famous structure was established by an English librarian named Abel Joshua Higginbotham in 1844.
