Surkhanda Temple
Surkhanda Temple is a Shakti temple in Dhanaulti. According to the legend, Lord Shiva was furiously dancing while holding the dead body of his wife Sati. So, Lord Vishnu left his Sudarshan chakra which cut her body into several pieces. It is said that her head fell at this place and thus Surkhanda Devi was created. Surkhanda Temple is uphill and one has to hike a small hilly trail to reach this temple.
