The Trichanur Sri Padmavati Ammavari Temple has kicked off its annual Pavithrotsavam festival, a three-day event rich in religious rituals and spiritual significance. The festival, which started on September 16 and concluded on September 18, is a key part of the temple's efforts to maintain its sanctity and purity. The celebrations started with special ceremonies such as the Vishwaksena Puja and Ankurarpanam on the evening of September 15, aimed at rectifying any mistakes made by either pilgrims or temple staff.

This festival allows devotees to reflect on their faith and partake in the rituals that cleanse the temple and ensure its spiritual purity.

As December is considered an auspicious time for pilgrimage, demand for tickets is expected to be high. Devotees are encouraged to act quickly to reserve their spots for this spiritual journey.
A Spiritual Journey with Pavithrotsavam
During the Pavithrotsavam festival, devotees have the chance to participate in the sacred rituals through the Pavithrotsavam Arjita Seva. For a payment of Rs 750, participants can join the ceremonies and receive prasadam, which includes two laddoos and two vadas as a sign of the deity's blessings. This offers a rare opportunity for devotees to engage closely with the rituals and deepen their spiritual experience.
Changes in Temple Services
Due to the Pavithrotsavam festival, some regular temple services conducted by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) were temporarily suspended. Services like the Ashtadala Pada Padmaradhana and Kalyanotsavam were not performed during the festival to make room for the special rituals. However, devotees could still partake in spiritual activities, as the Ananta Padmanabha Vratam was celebrated on September 17.
Ananta Padmanabha Vratam Celebrated
The Ananta Padmanabha Vratam, a significant event in the 108 Sri Vaishnava Divya Desams, was marked with a grand procession. Starting at 6 am on September 17, the Sudarshan Chakrathalwar of Lord Venkateswara was taken from the temple to Swami Pushkarini near the Sri Bhuvaraha Swami Temple for a ceremonial bath. This ritual further highlights the rich cultural and religious traditions of the Tirumala temple.
The Pavithrotsavam festival, along with the Ananta Padmanabha Vratam, showcases the deep religious and spiritual practices that define the Tirumala temple. These events not only cleanse and purify the temple but also offer devotees a chance to strengthen their connection with the divine. With darshan tickets for December available soon, it's the perfect time for those planning to embark on a pilgrimage to Tirumala to secure their place and partake in the sacred traditions of this holy site.
