Southern Railway has announced special trains between Thiruvananthapuram and Velankanni to help passengers during the busy travel period.

Thiruvananthapuram & Velankanni Special Train
According to the announcement, Train No. 06031, the Thiruvananthapuram North-Velankanni Express Special, will run on Wednesdays, May 13, 20, and 27. The train will depart from Thiruvananthapuram North railway station at 11 a.m. and reach Velankanni at 3 a.m. the following day. In the return direction, Train No. 06032, the Velankanni-Thiruvananthapuram Central Express Special, will run on Thursdays - May 14, 21, and 28. This special train will leave Velankanni at 12.45 p.m. and arrive at Thiruvananthapuram Central at 5.45 a.m. the next day.
How will this Train Benefit Passengers?
Southern Railway announced that this special service is being operated to manage additional passenger demand and provide more travel options for people travelling between Kerala and the famous pilgrimage town of Velankanni in Tamil Nadu.
Train Features
The trains will include different types of coaches to suit the needs of passengers from various travel categories. The rake composition will consist of two AC 2-tier coaches and two AC 3-tier coaches for passengers looking for more comfortable travel options.
Apart from these, the train will also have three AC 3-tier economy coaches, which offer air-conditioned travel at comparatively lower fares. For regular long-distance travellers, six sleeper class coaches will also be available.
Moreover, the train will include four second-class general coaches for unreserved passengers. There will also be one Divyangjan-friendly second-class general coach specially designed for differently-abled passengers. A luggage-cum-brake van coach will also be attached to the train for carrying luggage and railway operational purposes.
Passengers planning to travel on these routes are advised to check ticket availability and timings in advance before starting their journey.
