How to reach Silchar by road

National Highway 44 connects Silchar-Shillong-Guwahati. The roadways are the lifeline of the city. However, during the monsoons, due to landslides and worsening road conditions, it is highly risky to travel on this road. Daily day and night buses are available from Guwahati, through Shillong to Silchar and vice-versa.
