Nawalgarh, Shekhawati

Nawalgarh is a town located in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan that was founded by Thakur Nawal Singh in the 18th century. He was the then ruler of Nawalgarh and Mandawa region of Shekhawati. Havelis in Nawalgarh built in the year 1836 are characterised by craftily decorated frescoes.

One of the most famous attractions of the town is the Anandi Lal Poddar Haveli that was built in 1920. The Bala Kila Fort is another tourist attraction that is known for various paintings on its walls depicting local tales.

Some other major places to visit in the town are the Jodhraj Patodia Haveli, Bansidhar Bhagat Haveli, Chokhani Haveli, Roop Niwas Palace, Ganga Mai temple and British Clock Tower.
