Bhismaknagar, Roing

Bhismaknagar is a popular archaeological and heritage site of Arunachal Pradesh. The place gains its popularity due to the Bhismaknagar Fort which is around 30 km from Roing. This hill fort was built out of burnt bricks during the 8th century and is one of the oldest archaeological sites in the state.

The place is also a holy heritage site for the Idu Mishmis who belong to the tribal communities in Arunachal Pradesh. Excavations at the site have found a number of artefacts from the fort like terracotta plaques, terracotta figurines, decorative tiles and potteries.
