The South Central Railway has permanently increased the number of coaches on the Vande Bharat Express that runs between Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad from 16 to 20. This change was made because many more people want to travel on this train, and the existing coaches were not enough to meet demand.

With the extra coaches, the train's total seating capacity has risen from about 1,128 passengers to around 1,440.
Occupancy Rates Above Seating Limit
Earlier, the train regularly had occupancy rates above its seating limit, showing that it was very popular with travelers. To better handle this heavy demand and make travel more comfortable, South Central Railway decided to add four additional coaches. The extended train still runs on the same schedule and days of the week as before.
Vande Bharat Express
The 20-coach Vande Bharat Express now includes 18 AC Chair Cars and two Executive Class coaches. The increase in coach numbers allows more passengers to book seats and helps reduce long reservation waitlists. This is especially useful for people travelling on this busy route connecting Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Fastest Option between Vizag & Secunderabad
The train remains one of the fastest and most comfortable options between Vizag and Secunderabad, offering premium service and modern features compared to many other trains on the route. By improving capacity with longer rake formation, Indian Railways aims to serve more travelers efficiently without changing the overall timetable or frequency of this service.
