Three Trains to Get Additional Sleeper Coaches Announced by Southern Railway, Check it Out!

Southern Railway has announced the permanent addition of one Sleeper Class coach to three trains operating in the region. The decision comes a few days after two AC Three-Tier coaches were added to the Mangaluru Central-Rameswaram-Mangaluru Central Weekly Express trains.

Addition of Sleeper Class Coaches to Three Trains

According to the railway's announcement, Train No. 16159/16160 Chennai Egmore-Mangaluru Central-Chennai Egmore Express will receive one additional Sleeper Class coach on a permanent basis. After the change, the train will have one AC Two-Tier coach, two AC Three-Tier coaches, 12 Sleeper Class coaches, two Chair Car coaches, four Second Class General coaches and two Second Class Luggage cum Brake Van coaches that are Divyangjan-friendly.

The revised coach arrangement will be implemented from Mangaluru Central from October 1 onwards. From Chennai Egmore, the new composition will come into effect from September 29 onwards.

Southern Railway has also decided to augment Train No. 16603/16604 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Mangaluru Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Maveli Express with one more Sleeper Class coach permanently.

Following the change, the train will consist of one AC First Class coach, one AC Two-Tier coach, five AC Three-Tier coaches, 10 Sleeper Class coaches, five Second Class General coaches and two Second Class Luggage cum Brake Van coaches that are Divyangjan-friendly. The revised composition will be effective from Mangaluru Central from September 30 onwards and from Thiruvananthapuram Central from October 1 onwards.

Similarly, Train No. 16630/16629 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Mangaluru Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Malabar Express will also receive one additional Sleeper Class coach permanently.

The revised composition of the Malabar Express will include one AC First Class coach, one AC Two-Tier coach, five AC Three-Tier coaches, 10 Sleeper Class coaches, five Second Class General coaches and two Second Class Luggage cum Brake Van coaches that are Divyangjan friendly.

This augmentation will take effect from Mangaluru Central from September 28 onwards and from Thiruvananthapuram Central from September 29 onwards.
