Southern Railway has announced changes to train services between Madurai, Dindigul and Sengottai due to operational reasons. Passengers travelling on these routes have been advised to check the latest train information before starting their journey.

Trains to be Cancelled Today
On Wednesday, August 12, Train No. 06845, the Madurai-Sengottai Special, has been completely cancelled. Train No. 16845, the Erode-Sengottai Express, will also not operate between Dindigul and Sengottai. However, the train service will continue on the remaining part of its route as per the revised schedule.
The railway has also announced changes for Thursday, August 13. Train No. 06846, the Sengottai-Madurai Special, will be fully cancelled. At the same time, Train No. 16846, the Sengottai-Erode Express, will be partially cancelled between Sengottai and Dindigul.
The affected services are important for passengers travelling between the southern districts of Tamil Nadu, particularly those commuting between Madurai, Dindigul, Erode and Sengottai. The temporary changes could cause inconvenience to regular passengers, especially those travelling for work, education or other essential purposes.
Advisory for Passengers
The cancellations and partial cancellations are part of temporary changes announced by Southern Railway to facilitate railway operations, maintenance work or other operational requirements. Passengers are therefore advised to confirm the running status of their train before leaving for the station. Passengers with reservations on the affected trains should check the latest updates through official railway information channels. They should also allow extra time for their journey and consider alternative trains or other modes of transport if required.
The services are expected to return to their regular schedules once the temporary operational restrictions are over. Southern Railway will provide further updates if there are any additional changes to the affected services.
