TANGEDCO Announces State-Wide Power Shutdown on October 28 for Maintenance Across Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) has announced a state-wide power shutdown on Tuesday, October 28, due to maintenance and repair work on electrical systems. Nearly 300 locations across Coimbatore, Erode, Karur, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Nagapattinam, Palladam, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Theni, Trichy, Udumalpet, and Vellore will experience temporary power

cuts.

List of Areas to be Affected in Tamil Nadu

• In Coimbatore, power will be off from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the following areas: Arokiyasamy Road, Lawley Road, D.B. Road, Thadagam Road, Gandhi Park, Gopal Layout, and Papanaickenpalayam.

• In Erode, a major outage will occur from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., affecting places such as Itchampalli, Solangapalayam, Pasur, Perunthalaiyur, Appakudal, and Pundurai.

• In Karur, several localities, including Esanatham, Manamettupatty, Ayyermalai, Thaliyampatty, Nachalur, and Mayanoor, will face an 8-hour outage from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Krishnagiri areas such as Shoolagiri Town, Ulagam, and Chinnar will have no power from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while in Madurai, power will be cut from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Othakkadai, High Court, and Thirumohur.

• Trichy will face a power cut between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. in Thiruppanjali, Pulivalam, and surrounding villages. In Nagapattinam, the outage will last from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Mekkirmangalam and Komal.

• Palladam will face a 9 a.m.-2 p.m. outage, while Pudukottai areas like Annavasal and Thirumayam will experience cuts till 4 p.m. Thanjavur and Theni will see outages till 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively.

• In Udumalpet, power will be disrupted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and in Vellore, several key areas, including Thottapalayam, Katpadi Road, and Gandhi Road, will be without electricity from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

TANGEDCO has urged residents to plan and cooperate during the maintenance period. Moreover, they should plan their day accordingly.
