Indian Railways has announced a new timetable of summer special trains to manage the expected passenger rush during the busy summer months of April, May, and June. These additional services are provided to boost connectivity and reduce overcrowding on popular routes across the country.

Visakhapatnam-Shalimar Weekly Special Train
One of the major services introduced is the Visakhapatnam-Shalimar Weekly Special with numbers 08508/08507. This train will run every Tuesday from April 7 to June 30. It will leave Visakhapatnam at 11:20 am and stop at important stations like Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, and Bhubaneswar before reaching Shalimar at 3:00 am the next day. On the return journey, it will depart Shalimar on Wednesdays at 5:00 am and reach Visakhapatnam by 8:50 pm the same day. The train will have 2nd AC, 3rd AC, and Sleeper class coaches.
Sambalpur-Erode Weekly Special Train
For passengers travelling to southern India, the Sambalpur-Erode Weekly Special with numbers 08311/08312 will run for nine trips starting April 1. It will leave Sambalpur on Wednesdays at 11:35 am, pass through Duvvada at 9:30 pm, and arrive at Erode on Thursday night. The return service will leave Erode on Fridays at 2:35 pm.
Bhubaneswar-Yesvantpur Weekly Special Train
Another service, the Bhubaneswar-Yesvantpur Weekly Special with 02811/02812, will begin on April 4 and operate for 13 trips. This fully AC 3-tier train will depart Bhubaneswar on Saturdays at 7:15 pm and return from Yesvantpur on Mondays at 4:30 am, stopping at key stations like Guntur and Nandyal.
Yesvantpur-Katihar Weekly Special Train
Railways will also run long-distance trains such as the Yesvantpur-Katihar Weekly Special with 06571/06572, which departs Yesvantpur on Tuesdays and returns on Fridays. Moreover, the SMV Bengaluru-Malda Town Weekly Special with 06565/06566 will run from April 5 to mid-July, connecting several important stations along the route.
