users, so it is essential to consider their needs while designing public transport services. He added that these vending machines help women access hygiene products easily and privately, while also reflecting the metro's goal of providing world-class facilities.

Mumbai Metro One's Partnership with Sirona

Mumbai Metro One has partnered with Sirona, an Indian femtech and women's wellness brand, to install multi-product vending machines across all 12 stations on the Blue Line. According to an official statement released on Wednesday, the machines have been placed outside women's washrooms to ensure discreet and convenient access to essential menstrual and personal hygiene products.

Affordability of the Products

The products available in these machines are affordable, with packs of two sanitary pads starting at ₹10, making them accessible to women from all backgrounds. This initiative is especially helpful for commuters who may face emergencies during travel and may not have easy access to such products at the time.

How will the Collaboration Benefit Passengers?

The collaboration between Mumbai Metro One and Sirona also aims to promote awareness about menstrual health and reduce the discomfort or inconvenience women often experience in public spaces. By making these products easily available, the metro hopes to normalise conversations around menstruation and support women's health needs without stigma.

Officials said this move is part of Mumbai Metro One's larger plan to create a gender-friendly and inclusive public transport system. The initiative focuses on embedding care, safety, and convenience into daily travel, ensuring that public infrastructure responds better to the needs of all commuters.

Moreover, the tie-up with Sirona reflects Mumbai Metro One's commitment to improving the travel experience for women and making the metro a more supportive and inclusive space for everyday use.
