Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is set to launch the new Sabarmati-Bikaner Express, providing direct connectivity between Gujarat and western Rajasthan. Sabarmati-Bikaner Express to Benefit Several Passengers
The Sabarmati-Bikaner Express will be especially beneficial for students, office workers, businesspeople, traders, and tourists. At present, many passengers have to depend on connecting trains or other modes of transport to travel between the two regions. The new direct service will help reduce travel difficulties and improve connectivity.
The introduction of this train is part of the Indian Railways' efforts to strengthen transportation links between important cities in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Better rail connectivity is expected to support trade, tourism, education, and employment opportunities by making travel faster and more comfortable.
Railway Developments in the Region
This announcement comes after several recent railway developments in the region. In May, Ashwini Vaishnaw extended the Sabarmati-Jodhpur Superfast Express up to Jaisalmer, giving passengers direct rail access to one of Rajasthan's most popular tourist destinations. During the same period, he also flagged off the Bhuj-Delhi Express, which operates through the Bhildi, Jalore, Luni, and Pali Marwar route, improving connectivity for many towns along the corridor.
Over the last two years, the Railway Minister has focused on expanding and improving railway services across Gujarat and Rajasthan. Several new trains, route extensions, and infrastructure projects have been introduced to meet the growing travel demand in these states.
