Goa has started feeling the early signs of the rainy season as light to moderate pre-monsoon showers touched many parts of the state. These showers not only bring relief from the heat but also mark the slow arrival of the monsoon season. With clouds in the sky and fresh drops of rain, both locals and tourists can enjoy the change in weather.

Rainfall Report from Across Goa
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Dharbandora received the highest rainfall with 19mm. Other areas like Dabolim recorded 3.2mm, Ponda got 2.8mm, and Panaji had only 2mm of rain. This level of rainfall is quite normal for the pre-monsoon time and helps prepare the land and air for the heavier rains that will follow soon.
Cloudy Skies and Comfortable Temperatures
The weather is expected to stay partly cloudy over the next 24 hours, with more evening showers likely in different areas of Goa. Even though there is some rain, the temperature will remain in a comfortable range. The highest temperature is expected to go up to 35°C, while the lowest will stay around 27°C. This mix of warm and wet weather is a typical feature of the pre-monsoon period.
Weather Alerts for Goa
The IMD has also given weather warnings for both North and South Goa. There could be thunderstorms along with strong winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 kmph until May 16. These changes are normal during this season and often come before the main monsoon rains. People living in Goa and visitors are advised to check weather updates and be careful during outdoor plans.
Heavy Weather in Gujarat
While Goa is seeing light showers, Gujarat is facing stronger weather conditions. The IMD has issued a red alert for many districts in Gujarat due to expected heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. This shows how pre-monsoon weather can vary from one region to another in India.
Upcoming Weather in Goa
Looking ahead, from May 17 to 19, the skies over Goa are likely to remain partly cloudy with a chance of light thundershowers. This pattern will help keep the temperature moderate and make the weather pleasant for everyone. Such conditions are common during the pre-monsoon season and play an important role in preparing the region for the full monsoon.
Goa is now stepping into the pre-monsoon season with light rainfall, cloudy skies, and weather alerts in place. These early rains are important for nature and signal that the monsoon is not far away.
