To ensure smooth arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path in Delhi, authorities have introduced several new measures, officials said on Sunday. These steps include special announcements at Metro stations and a QR code-based parking system to help manage the large number of visitors expected for the parade.

How Will Metro Stations Guide Commuters?
Metro station announcements will guide people who have tickets or passes for the Republic Day parade. These announcements will clearly inform spectators about the correct stations to use based on their seating enclosures, which is expected to reduce confusion and crowding on the day of the event.
Seating Enclosures for Republic Day Parade
This year, all seating enclosures for the Republic Day parade have been named after rivers. Based on whether a person's seating enclosure is on the northern or southern side of Kartavya Path, they will be directed to different Metro stations. Spectators seated on the southern side, with enclosures named Beas, Brahmaputra, Chambal, Chenab, Gandak, Ganga, Ghagra, Godavari, Sindhu, and Jhelum, have been advised to get down at Udyog Bhawan Metro Station.
On the other hand, those whose tickets are for the northern side will be guided to exit at the Central Secretariat Metro Station. These enclosures include Kaveri, Kosi, Krishna, Mahanadi, Narmada, Pennar, Periyar, Ravi, Son, Satluj, Teesta, Vaigai, and Yamuna. To make movement easier, pedestrian pathways have been aligned with the river-named enclosures so that spectators can reach their seats smoothly and safely.
QR Code-Based Parking System
In addition to Metro arrangements, a QR code-based parking system has been introduced for private vehicles. This system will manage parking across 22 designated parking lots and can accommodate nearly 8,000 vehicles close to the seating areas. Officials have strongly advised spectators to use Metro services as much as possible to avoid traffic congestion and ensure a hassle-free experience during the Republic Day celebrations.
