Pune Trains to be Affected on 14 June Due to Maintenance Work at Pune Yard

Rail passengers in and around Pune are likely to face significant travel disruptions on Sunday, June 14, 2026, as Central Railway's Pune Division has announced the cancellation, short-termination, and rescheduling of several train services. The changes are being made due to a nine-hour infrastructure block at Pune yard from 8 am to 5 pm.

Why is the Maintenance Work Carried Out?

The maintenance work is part of an important railway upgrade project on the Pune-Daund section. During the block period, railway teams will carry out engineering, signalling and telecommunication (S&T), and overhead equipment (OHE) works, including the replacement of DDS point numbers 208 and 209. These improvements are aimed at enhancing operational safety and efficiency.

As a result, nine train services have been completely cancelled for the day. Major affected trains include the Pune-Nagpur Express, Nagpur-Pune Express, and the CSMT Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express in both directions. Several DEMU and suburban trains operating on the Pune-Daund, Baramati-Pune, and Satara-Pune routes have also been cancelled. These services are widely used by daily commuters and long-distance passengers, so the disruption is expected to affect a large number of travellers.

Apart from cancellations, nine trains will be short-terminated at stations such as Shivajinagar, Khadki, and Hadapsar instead of reaching Pune station. Some suburban trains running between Lonavla and Pune, and Talegaon and Pune, will also be affected. Additionally, long-distance trains arriving from Jaipur, Jammu Tawi, Amravati, and Mumbai will end their journeys earlier than scheduled.

Eight other trains will start from intermediate stations like Shivajinagar, Khadki, Hadapsar, and Satara rather than Pune, resulting in partial cancellation of their services. Two trains passing through the Lonavla-Pune section will also be regulated, causing delays.

Meanwhile, the Pune-Rani Kamalapati Express will depart at 7:55 pm instead of 3:15 pm, resulting in a delay of nearly four hours and forty minutes. Passengers are advised to check updated schedules and train status before travelling.
