Navaratri Festival: Kerala State Road Transport Corporation to Operate 65 Services

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate 65 special services to help devotees travelling for the Navaratri festival between Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.

Kerala State Transport to Operate 65 Services for Navaratri Festival: Special Arrangements

The arrangements were reviewed at a meeting chaired by Devaswom Minister K. Muralidharan. District Collector K.S. Anju and Rural SP Prasanthan Kani B.K. will serve as coordinators for the smooth conduct of the Navaratri idol procession and festival.
The procession will be accompanied by Fire and Rescue personnel, a medical team from the Health Department, and an ambulance. DJ programmes will not be permitted. Accommodation and food will be arranged for officials from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The minister also directed officials to strictly follow the laws related to elephant management.

Tamil Nadu government officials said they had completed the necessary arrangements. PWD and Corporation officials were asked to speed up road repair work along the procession route. The Kerala Police will provide a guard of honour to the procession.
On October 9, the idols of Goddess Saraswati from Thevarakkettu at Padmanabhapuram Palace, the Munnuttinanka idol from Suchindram and the idol of Kumaraswamy from Kumarakovil will leave in procession. The procession will also carry the silver horse and the Travancore Maharaja's ceremonial sword. On October 10, the procession will receive receptions at various locations after entering Kerala through Kaliakkavilai on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border.

At around 6:30 PM on October 11, the procession will reach the Navaratri Mandapam in front of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple.

Goddess Saraswati will be installed at the Navaratri Mandapam, Kumaraswamy at Aryasala, and Munnuttinanka Devi at the Chenthitta Devi Temple. The 10-day Navaratri puja will be held from October 12 to 21, while the return procession will take place on October 23.
