Pune Airport will conduct Yatri Seva Abhiyan 2026, a 24-day campaign to improve the daily travel experience of passengers. The campaign will run from September 17 to October 10 and will focus on Seva, Swachhata, Sahyog and Service with Smile.
Pune Airport's Yatri Seva Abhiyan 2026 to Start on 17 September
Airport Director Santosh Dhoke said the initiative has been expanded from last year's one-day programme to 24 days. Each day will focus on a different aspect of passenger services, including cleanliness, digital facilities, security, parking and seating. The aim is to make these improvements part of the airport's regular operations rather than temporary measures.
Pune Airport's Campaign Coverage
The campaign will cover different stages of a passenger's journey. It will begin with cleanliness drives near the terminal approach, hassle-free parking, comfortable seating, and smoother arrival facilities for elderly and differently-abled passengers. Wayfinding, flight information, baggage handling, drinking water, and other essential amenities will also receive attention.
Digital services such as Digi Yatra, free Wi-Fi and digital kiosks will be promoted. A special assistance desk will be available during busy hours to help passengers use these facilities. The campaign will also focus on women, children and family-friendly facilities, including baby-care rooms and safety measures. Passenger grievance redressal through feedback and AirSewa will be another key area. The airport will also represent local culture as part of the programme.
Later, the campaign will focus on sustainability by reducing single-use plastic and improving energy use. Frontline staff will receive training in courteous and empathetic passenger handling, while employees providing excellent service will be recognised.
Airlines, security agencies, ground staff and other stakeholders will jointly inspect the airport to identify recurring problems. Dhoke said Pune's four Regional Connectivity Routes would also receive attention, as many passengers using these routes are first-time flyers and need a smooth check-in experience. The airport will conduct hygiene and rate-list inspections of food outlets and organise health checkups for sanitation workers.
Dhoke also said Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu is expected to make surprise visits to four airports across the country during the campaign to oversee operations.
