Delhi-Bihar Festival Trains: Special Services to Operate between Delhi, Gorakhpur, Bihar to Handle Rush

To manage the expected increase in passenger traffic during the upcoming festive season, the Railways will operate two reserved special trains via Gorakhpur. One train will connect Anand Vihar Terminal with Muzaffarpur, while the other will run between Delhi and Sitamarhi. These services will provide additional travel options for passengers travelling between Delhi, Gorakhpur, Bihar and nearby areas.

Delhi-Bihar Festival Trains

Train 04028 Anand Vihar Terminal-Muzaffarpur twice-weekly reserved festival special will operate every Tuesday and Friday from October 13 to November 24. It will make 13 trips. The train will leave Anand Vihar Terminal at 9:15 am and reach Gorakhpur at 10:25 pm via Amroha, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Gonda and Basti. It will then reach Muzaffarpur at 4:30 am the next day via Chhapra, Sonpur and Hajipur.

On the return journey, train 04027 Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar Terminal will run every Wednesday and Saturday from October 14 to November 25. It will depart Muzaffarpur at 6:15 am and reach Gorakhpur at 12:55 pm via Hajipur, Sonpur and Chhapra. It will reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 5:30 am the next day via Basti, Gonda, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad and Amroha. The train will have 20 coaches, including one AC 2-Tier, two AC 3-Tier, nine Sleeper, six General Second Class and two SLR coaches.

The second service, train 04010 Delhi-Sitamarhi weekly reserved festival special, will run every Thursday from October 15 to November 19, making six trips. It will leave Delhi at 11:05 pm and reach Gorakhpur at 1:40 pm the next day via Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur and Gonda. It will then reach Sitamarhi at 11:30 pm via Bagaha, Narkatiaganj, Sikta, Raxaul and Bairgania.

On the return journey, train 04009 Sitamarhi-Delhi will run every Saturday from October 17 to November 21. It will depart Sitamarhi at 12:45 am and reach Gorakhpur at 7:50 am via Bairgania, Raxaul, Sikta, Narkatiaganj and Bagaha. It will then reach Delhi at 8:30 pm via Gonda, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad and Ghaziabad.

The Sitamarhi special will have 21 coaches, including one LSLRD, four General Second Class, six Sleeper, four AC 3-Tier Economy, two AC 3-Tier, two AC 2-Tier, one AC First Class and one generator-cum-luggage van.

These special services are expected to provide more travel options during the festive season, when passenger demand between Delhi and Bihar usually increases.
