The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced a planned power outage in Bengaluru on 30 October. The outage will affect more than 100 areas and will last for five hours, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) needs to carry out urgent maintenance

work on a 66/11 kV sub-station (the Pottery Sub-station). BESCOM states that this work is required to ensure the electrical network remains safe and stable.
List of Areas to be Affected in Bengaluru
Some of the areas expected to face the outage include Old Baiyappanahalli, Nagenpalya, Satyanagar, Gajendranagar, S. Kumar Layout, Andhra Bank Road, Cookson Road, Richards Park Road, Oil Mill Road, Kamanahalli Main Road, KHB Colony, Jaibharat Nagar, CK Garden, Hutchins Road, Wheeler Road, Banaswadi Railway Station Road, Lazar Layout, Vivekananda Nagar, Jeevanhalli, Fraser Town, Cox Town, Benson Town, Richards Town, and surrounding localities.
BESCOM's Advisory for Residents
BESCOM has asked residents living in the affected zones to plan and complete any essential electrical tasks before 11 a.m. and be prepared for the power to be cut off during those five hours. Although an interruption in supply can be inconvenient, BESCOM states that the maintenance is intended to prevent future breakdowns and enhance the overall reliability of the power supply in the city.
