Bengaluru residents in Devarabelakere and nearby areas will face an 8-hour power outage on Friday, November 21, as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) will be carrying out important maintenance work. According to the notification, emergency repair work is planned at the 66/11 KV power distribution centre located in Malebennur,

under the Devarabelakere branch. Because of this, the power supply will be interrupted from 10 am to 6 pm. Residents in the affected regions may experience low voltage, shortage, or complete loss of electricity during this time.
List of Places to be Affected
The places expected to face the 8-hour outage include Kadlegondi - Satyanarayana Camp, Salakatte - Mitlakatte - IP Zone, and several other surrounding locations such as Malebennur, Halivana, Koppa, Dibbadahalli, Mallanaikanahalli, Guddadebevinahalli, Sanklipura, Nanditavare, Kumbalur, Kunibelakere, Chandrarao Camp, Basaveshwara Camp, and Bhaskar Rao Camp.
Advisory for Residents
Since the power cut is planned for most of the day, residents are advised to follow a few precautionary steps. Make sure your inverters, emergency lamps, mobile phones, and power banks are fully charged before the outage starts. Try to finish all important household tasks that require electricity-such as running water pumps, washing machines, grinders, or microwaves-before 10 am. It is also helpful to store enough water for drinking, cooking, and other daily needs since pumping water may not be possible during the outage. Preparing meals in advance can also reduce inconvenience.
BESCOM, which supplies electricity to eight districts in Karnataka, including Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Davanagere, Tumkur, Chitradurga, and Ramanagara, has been handling power distribution since June 1, 2002. The company manages a large service area with multiple zones, circles, and divisions to ensure a reliable electricity supply across the region.
