Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Chennai to Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express on August 31, 2024. This new semi-high-speed train service will cover a distance of 724 kilometers in under nine hours, providing a faster and more comfortable travel option for passengers. The train will operate six days a week, except on Wednesdays.

The Vande Bharat Express will depart from Chennai Egmore at 5:00 AM and arrive in Nagercoil at 1:50 PM. The return journey will start at 2:20 PM from Nagercoil, and the train will reach Chennai Egmore by 11:00 PM. This schedule allows passengers to enjoy a full day in Nagercoil before heading back to Chennai.
