Several parts of the Chennai district in Tamil Nadu will have a power cut on Saturday, November 15, due to routine maintenance work. The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) regularly conducts repairs, maintenance, and system upgrades to keep the electricity network running smoothly. As a result, certain areas

may experience temporary power outages. However, the number of areas affected today is smaller than on many other maintenance days, which means fewer people will experience outages.
List of Affected Areas in Chennai
Tangedco has released a list of localities that will face a power shutdown on November 15. The areas where power supply will be suspended include:
• Lakshmipuram
• Periyar Nagar
• Gonimedu
• Ganga Nagar
• Sarathkanthigai
• Pammathukulam
• Ellammanpet
• Airship
Advisory For Residents
Residents in these places are advised to plan their day accordingly, especially if they rely on electricity for important household or work-related activities.
People living in the mentioned localities are encouraged to stay prepared and complete any electricity-dependent tasks beforehand. Keeping devices charged, arranging backup lighting, and planning can help reduce inconvenience. The power cut is temporary, and normal supply will resume once all safety checks and repairs are completed.
Why is the Power Cut Essential?
According to the Electricity Board, the power cut is necessary to carry out essential maintenance tasks safely and efficiently. This type of scheduled shutdown helps in preventing larger issues or unexpected outages in the future. Tangedco has also assured that the maintenance work is expected to be completed by the afternoon. Once the work is finished, the electricity supply will be restored, and all affected areas should get power back by around 5 pm.
