As India prepares to celebrate its 77th Republic Day, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced special arrangements to help people travel easily to the Republic Day celebrations. These changes are mainly for those planning to visit Kartavya Path early in the morning.

Change in Metro Timings
According to DMRC, all metro lines will start running from 3 AM on Monday, January 26, to ensure smooth and hassle-free travel for commuters heading to the parade and other events. From 3 AM to 6 AM, metro trains will be operational at an interval of 15 minutes. After 6 AM, the metro services will continue as per the normal daily schedule. Passengers have been advised to plan their journeys so they can avoid crowding and last-minute inconvenience.
Parking Arrangements
For commuters who prefer to drive to metro stations, DMRC has also made parking arrangements. All metro station parking facilities will remain open throughout the day. This will allow people to park their vehicles safely and continue their journey by metro without any trouble.
Points to Remember
Some key points for commuters to remember include starting the journey early to avoid rush, using the metro services that run every 15 minutes till 6 AM, and relying on normal metro timings after that. The availability of parking at all stations adds extra convenience for travelers.
Theme of Republic Day
The Republic Day 2026 celebrations will follow the central theme "150 Years of Vande Mataram," honouring the iconic song written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. This theme will be reflected across the parade, including paintings from 1923 displayed along Kartavya Path. The 30 tableaux will focus on freedom and self-reliance, while cultural performances by renowned artists and pan-India bands will add grandeur to the celebrations.
