To manage the heavy rush during the year-end holidays, Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has announced extended services for the Metro, Water Metro, and electric feeder buses. These special arrangements are meant to help people travel safely and comfortably after the New Year celebrations.

Kochi Metro trains will run late into the night on December 31. On January 1, metro services will operate at 20-minute intervals until 1.30 am. The last trains from both Aluva and Tripunithura terminal stations will leave at 1.30 am. From Edappally station, the final train will depart at 2 am. In addition, metro services from Edappally to Aluva and Tripunithura will run until 11 pm every day up to January 3, 2026, to support increased passenger movement during the holiday period.

Water Metro services will follow a slightly different schedule on New Year's Eve. On the night of December 31, services on the High Court-Mattancherry, High Court-Vypeen, and High Court-Fort Kochi routes will stop at 7 pm. However, Water Metro services on all other routes will continue as usual. To help people return home after celebrations, special early-morning services will operate from 12 am to 4 am on January 1 on the High Court-Mattancherry and High Court-Vypeen routes.
E-feeder Bus Services
Electric feeder buses will also run during the early hours of January 1. These buses will operate on the Vypeen-High Court route from 12 am to 4 am. In addition, the High Court-MG Road circular bus service, which connects several metro stations and the Ernakulam Junction (South) railway station, will be available during the same time period.
These extended services aim to ensure smooth and safe travel for everyone celebrating the New Year in Kochi.
