Indian Railways is preparing to introduce the much-awaited Vande Bharat Sleeper trains, which will offer passengers a faster and more comfortable option for overnight travel. Unlike the current Vande Bharat trains that operate during the day with chair-car seating, the new sleeper version will feature sleeping berths for long-distance journeys.

These corridors currently witness heavy passenger demand and are among the busiest long-distance rail routes in India. The new trains are expected to reduce travel time while offering better onboard facilities compared to conventional express trains.
Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Features
The Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will have modern coaches equipped with features such as comfortable berths, automatic doors, advanced safety systems, CCTV cameras, passenger information displays, and improved washrooms. The trains will also include the Kavach safety system, which helps prevent collisions and enhances operational safety.
According to railway officials, the sleeper trains will be capable of running at speeds of up to 160 kmph. This will help passengers reach their destinations faster than many existing overnight services.
