A Plan to Connect Cities

The proposed metro line from Bangalore to Tumkur will be 56.6 km long and will include 25 elevated stations. It will start from the Madavara (BIEC) station on the Green Line and go all the way to Shira in Tumkur. This extension is expected to improve the daily travel experience for many residents and visitors. BMRCL's Public Relations Officer, Yashwant Chauhan, said that once approved, the metro will make traveling to Tumkur much easier and faster.

A Well-Planned Route

The new metro line is planned to pass through many important places. From Madavara, it will move through Makali, Dasanapura, Nelamangala, and several other key areas before reaching Tumkur. Important stops include the Sompura Industrial Area, Dabaspet, Tumkur Bus Stand, and finally, Shira Gate. These areas include both industrial and residential zones, and the metro will help people travel quickly between home, work, and city centers. This development is likely to support local businesses and make daily life more convenient for many.

Steps Towards Approval and Action

The project is now waiting for the green signal from the state government. Once approved, it will be sent to the central government for final approval. After that, the process of identifying land and starting construction will begin. This metro plan is part of a larger effort to connect more regions, like Devanahalli and Ramanagara, to the metro network.

What This Means for People

The proposed Bangalore-Tumkur metro line is expected to bring a big change in regional transport. It will not only help people in Bengaluru but also make travel easier for those living in nearby districts. Faster, cheaper, and more reliable public transport will save time and reduce the need for road travel.

This metro proposal is a major step in building a better future for Karnataka's transport system. As the government reviews the plan, people are hopeful that this dream project will soon become reality, bringing growth and comfort to the entire region.
