Nagpur Metro's Phase 3 expansion will now include a major corridor along the Inner Ring Road, stretching from Mankapur Chowk to Rachana Junction (Hingna T-point), covering around 25 km. The decision was confirmed soon after MahaMetro invited tenders to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Phase 3. Union Minister

Nitin Gadkari also officially confirmed the inclusion of the Inner Ring Road corridor during a press conference on Monday.
Nagpur Metro Phase 3
Moreover, Phase 3 will become the biggest expansion planned for Nagpur Metro so far. According to the proposed plan included in the Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) approved in July last year, Phase 3 is expected to cover about 54.5 km. In addition to the Inner Ring Road corridor, the phase will include three more important routes.
Sitabuldi to Koradi Corridor
One of these is the Sitabuldi to Koradi corridor, which will be 11.5 km long. This route was finalised earlier under the CMP and is aimed at improving north-south connectivity across the city. Another proposed corridor is a 3 km high-capacity route from MIDC ESR to CEAT Ltd. This stretch is meant to improve last-mile connectivity to the Butibori MIDC industrial area. The third corridor will run from Khapri to New Nagpur over a distance of 15 km and will help connect the upcoming greenfield New Nagpur development with the existing metro network.
Four New Corridors
Together, these four corridors will add nearly 55 km to the Nagpur Metro system. Currently, Phase I and Phase II together cover about 84 km. With Phase 3 added, the total metro network length will reach around 129 km, making Nagpur one of the cities with the largest metro networks in India.
The Alternative Analysis Report (AAR) and DPR will be prepared over the next nine months, following central government guidelines, which will finalise routes, station locations, and whether sections will be elevated or underground. After completion, the DPR will be sent to the state and central governments for approval. Phase 3 construction will begin in stages after Phase II is completed.
