Mumbai's transit network will remain active through the night as Mumbai Metro One, Western Railway, Central Railway, and BEST announce extra services from 31 December 2025 to 1 January 2026 to assist New Year celebrations travelers across the city and its suburbs.

Mumbai Metro One Pvt. Ltd (MMOPL) will run additional trains on the Versova-Ghatkopar line on New Year's Eve, adding 28 more trips between 31 December and 1 January 2026, bringing the total metro trips during the extended hours to 504.

The metro will operate late into the night for celebration events. The last train from Versova (VER) is scheduled to depart at 2:14 am, while the final service from Ghatkopar is set for 2:40 am, providing passengers additional options to return from events along the east-west corridor.
Western and Central Railway Mumbai Metro One additional train services New Year
Western Railway (WR) will add eight late-night suburban services in total-four runs from Churchgate to Virar and four on the reverse. These trains will start after 12:15 am and run until about 5:00 am. Central Railway (CR) plans special operations on both the Main Line and Harbour Line for 31 December into 1 January. Trains will run from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Kalyan on the Main Line and to Panvel on the Harbour Line, with departures at 1:30 am and arrivals around 3:00 am and 2:50 am, respectively.

BEST buses and Mumbai Metro One additional train services New Year
BEST will back late-night rail and metro operations with additional buses. Special services will connect popular beaches from 10:00 pm to 12:30 am, while South Mumbai heritage tour buses will run from 5:30 pm into the early hours to accommodate New Year's Eve crowds. Collectively, overnight plans by Mumbai Metro One, Western Railway, Central Railway and BEST aim to keep the city moving during New Year festivities, offering late departures, broader coverage and increased capacity for residents, office-goers and tourists returning from celebrations across Mumbai and its coastal hotspots.
