Meerut to Sahibabad RRTS Station Begins Passenger Operations; Check Routes, Ticket Fares

The Meerut South RRTS (Regional Rapid Transit System) station has officially opened for passenger services, marking a big step in the expansion of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. This new service aims to make travel between Meerut, Ghaziabad, Noida, and Delhi much faster and more convenient.

Meerut South RRTS Station Begins

Key Details of the New Service

- Operational Stretch: The RRTS corridor now covers 42 kilometers, connecting nine stations from Sahibabad in Ghaziabad to Meerut South in Meerut. This is just the beginning, as the full corridor will eventually stretch to 82 kilometers. The Meerut South station will ease commuters' journey to Mohiuddinpur, Bhudbaral, Bahadurpur, Aminagar, Chhajjupur, Kharkhoda, and Kadarabad.

- Service Hours: Namo Bharat trains are now running from 6 am to 10 pm every day, making it easy for passengers to plan their trips throughout the day.

- Fares: A one-way ticket from Sahibabad to Meerut South costs ₹110 for standard class, offering an affordable and quick option for travelers. Ghaziabad to Meerut South fare is Rs 90 for the same class.

- Parking Facilities: The Meerut South station has the largest parking area along the RRTS corridor in Uttar Pradesh, with space for around 1,200 vehicles. This makes it convenient for passengers who want to park their cars and use the train service.

- Accessibility: The station is designed with special facilities for passengers with disabilities, including designated parking areas and ramps, ensuring that everyone can use the service comfortably.

Impact on Commute Times

This new stretch of the RRTS is expected to significantly reduce travel times between Meerut and Delhi. Once the entire 82-kilometer corridor is completed, the travel time between these two cities will be reduced to around 55 minutes. This is a major improvement compared to the current road travel time, which can take over two hours depending on traffic.

Future Expansion

The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor currently includes the following stations:

1. Sahibabad
2. Ghaziabad
3. Guldhar
4. Duhai
5. Duhai Depot
6. Muradnagar
7. Modinagar South
8. Modinagar North
9. Meerut South

The corridor is expected to be fully operational by June 2025, connecting even more stations and providing faster, more efficient travel options between Delhi and Meerut. This rapid transit system is designed to offer a more comfortable and reliable option for daily commuters, reducing congestion on the roads and improving the overall travel experience.

The opening of the Meerut South RRTS station is a significant development in improving connectivity in the region, promising faster and more efficient travel for all.
